Check-ups & Cleanings
Regular check-ups and professional cleanings are the single most impactful thing you can do for your long-term oral health. A routine visit every six months allows Dr. Basi to catch concerns early, remove build-up that brushing can't address, and give you a personalized plan to keep your teeth and gums thriving.
How It Works
Medical & Dental History Review
We review any updates to your health, medications, or dental concerns since your last visit.
Comprehensive Examination
Dr. Basi examines every tooth, your gums, jaw joint, bite, and soft tissues — including an oral cancer screening.
Digital X-Rays (when needed)
Low-radiation digital x-rays reveal what can't be seen visually: early cavities, bone changes, and developing issues.
Professional Cleaning
Our hygienist removes plaque and hardened tartar from all surfaces and below the gumline, then polishes your teeth.
Periodontal Charting
We measure gum pocket depths around every tooth to track gum health and catch early-stage gum disease.
Personalized Home Care Advice
We share tips on brushing technique, flossing, and any products that will benefit your specific situation.

Q.How often should I get a check-up and cleaning?
Most patients benefit from every six months. If you have a history of gum disease, cavities, or other risk factors, Dr. Basi may recommend more frequent visits.
Q.Does a cleaning hurt?
For most patients, a cleaning is comfortable. If you have sensitive teeth or inflamed gums, some areas may be tender. We can adjust our technique and use desensitizing agents if needed.
Q.Why do my gums bleed during cleaning?
Bleeding gums are often a sign of early gum disease (gingivitis) caused by plaque build-up. Regular cleanings resolve this — and with consistent home care, bleeding typically stops within a few weeks.
Q.What if it's been years since my last cleaning?
No judgment here. Many people have gaps in dental care. We'll assess your current condition and create a comfortable plan to get you back on track.
